STILL LIFE IN OILS
Whether you see yourself as a novice or experienced artist this workshop will work for you. I'll help you through a process, from drawing to completion, that creates the wonderful depth and realism associated with classical still life.
My workshop numbers are small (maximum 4), which means I can dedicate quality time to each and every student, whatever their experience.

Working with an underpainting in acrylics, we will cover gridding up, drawing, colour mixing, mediums,
thinning paint, brushes, paint application and varnishing, as well as how to develop your own individual approach and style.
I demonstrate a number of different techniques to show what can be achieved to help you learn about
glazing – using thin transparent colours – and impasto – thicker paint and texture – to create realistic pictures.
All sessions are facilitated in a relaxed and informal way to bring out the natural ability of students, and I work closely with each person to make the experience enjoyable and liberating. I believe it is as important to work on someone's confidence as it is their painting skills in order to give them the self belief and know-how to grow as an artist. This drives the positive way in which I teach.
