Just spent a fantastic weekend painting this young lady - how lucky am I to find a life model as paintable as this. Day one was the drawing, followed by a grisaille using acrylics and finally a few scrubbed in cushions in oils. Day two started with the addition of some shadow glazes on the cushions and background, followed by oils over the body.
There is still lots to do, but not until this first layer of oils dries. I'll post each stage as I work on it.
Just remember you gentlemen out there that the model will be reading this post, and she is not a shrinking violet so any smutty comments will no doubt receive the response they deserve!
“I just wanted to email you both to say thank you for a wonderful 3 days at your Portrait workshop. Thank you Mike for sharing your know-how and vast knowledge. I learnt so much from your workshop, and I cracked on with the Portraits as soon as I got home, because I didn’t want to forget anything you had taught me. I deeply appreciated our little talk at the end of the course, I have never received such encouragement. Thanks again ..”
